Posted on: 30 Sep, 2024

The first virtual meeting for the EUMEDplus project was successfully conducted today (30 September 2024) bringing together project partners and beneficiaries to discuss the aims, structure, and initial work areas.
>>>The EU co-funded EUMEDplus project was launched on 1 September 2024. Aligned with the Agenda for the EU’s partnership for the Southern Neighbourhood, EUMEDplus aims at enhancing the capabilities of NRENs in North Africa and their Regional Network, the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), and increasing access to modern digital infrastructure and technologies.
The agenda of the meeting was divided according to the different Work Packages of the project, with each partner detailing their responsibilities and progress. Discussions highlighted administrative aspects and deliverables that are already underway. The meeting also set the stage for the collaborative efforts to come, with partners sharing their insights and raising questions to clarify objectives.
A key highlight of the discussions was the upcoming EUMEDplus project kick-off meeting, scheduled to take place in Tunis in December alongside the e-AGE24 conference. Partners suggested using the in-person meeting to make significant progress on the project’s objectives and deliverables, including addressing specific needs of the beneficiaries and focusing on the extension of the Medusa submarine cable.
The virtual meeting concluded with a shared commitment to achieving the project's objectives and leveraging upcoming events for further progress.
